一、萨满的AE

We have changed our minds on the design of Elemental and decided that the spec needs to be able to do real AE in order to fill the ranged dps role. We're still considering the best way to do that. Totems, Chain Lightning, or Thunderstrom are all candidates (possibly glyphed) but all have their problems too, which is why we haven't settled on an implementation yet.

We're not convinced Enhancement needs AE. Rogues and cats don't have a true AE (though they might really want one) and it doesn't seem to have hurt them much.

I do agree that everything is easier right now at 70. But keep in mind these 3 things coming up at 80:

-- Bosses have more armor. That is going to affect the threat generation, particularly of warriors and bears.
-- A lot of groups are AE tanking and burning down groups. It's fun, but at higher levels the risk you're going to take is that those groups kill you.
-- Threat is easy to manage now, and not too bad in Naxx. Naxx was designed to be more of an introduction to raiding. It won't stay that easy. I wouldn't expect a lot of Void Walker-style competitions to stay on top of threat meters compared to other tanks, but you might have to worry about the dps'rs catching up to you at some point.

We LOVE Ret paladins. Seriously. We made a ton of changes to the spec that we wouldn't have done if we didn't care what happened to the class. When we did Naxx tests and people brought Ret paladins, it was great. Even before they became overpowered, there were several posts by Ret pallies saying how they liked the changes to their class (so I don't think it was just an issue that they were rolling over everyone that made them fun).

Sadly, you were overpowered by a considerable margin in both PvE and PvP. That was our fault (mine really) and not anything the community did. Most Ret pallies actually seem to agree they were OP and only argue with the magnitude of the nerfs.

Of course not. Why would we risk a franchise with eleven million active players for something so selfish? That would be really, really dumb. Besides, if you read the forums, we have never played any of the classes anyway. :)

Ret was not the only OP class. We made changes to Frost mages and all hunters at the same time. There are still a few classes that may be OP still. They probably know who they are.

We made a lot of changes to the game for LK, and we owe it to the players who have stuck with their characters for so many years to quickly address things if they feel off.

I'm not the business guy here, but I don't think the game has the following it has because we somehow manage to decieve large portions of our customer base. I think it's because the game is fun.

That is exactly the plan.

Q1:我不希望开发者随着别人的意愿而随便做出改动。
当然不会,我们目前有1100万注册用户,我们是不可能做出自私的改动的。另外如果你看看论坛就会发现我们并没有在玩任何的角色。
Q2:你们大幅削弱了我却对其他职业强大起来以保持平衡。
过于强大的不止惩戒骑士一个。我们同时还对冰法和猎人做出了改动。有些职业目前仍然有些过于强大,他们自己应该清楚吧。
Q3:平衡总是止步不前,在过去的一年里我们几乎没什么变化。
我们在巫妖王之怒里做出了大量的改动。把过去几年都放在某个角色上的玩家应该会很快找到事情去做。

四、猎人的弹药

So your looking at Soul Shards for locks, any word on looking a hunters ammo? Not only do we loose a bag slot like locks do, but it costs a fortune.

We are looking at ammo too. We think there might be ways to turn it into an interesting decision about ammo type and not something that requires you to procure 500 stacks before a raid

On the contrary, while much of the name calling is appropriate for 5th graders, it's actually an interesting thread. You have people on both side arguing their points. If this had just been in the warlock forum, the same classes would just be bumping it, frustrated that nobody from Blizzard came in and promised to nerf mages.

FWIW, Mage Armor is quite powerful, but it's a trade-off. It's going to make mages harder to kill by some classes but easier to others. That seems like a decent design, so then it just comes down to numbers. We'll keep an eye on it, but it's not something slated for an imminent nerf.

I have said many, many times that this is something we're looking at right now. I am going to be less sympathetic to QQ that we don't read your posts if you don't read ours. :)

We think there is some truth to this. The recent resilience change was intended to help. We also expect health and mitigation to increase much faster than damage increases as players hit 80, but it is definitely a concern right now in PvP.

This is not a major concern for us. As I have also posted, good talents are good. If you didn't want them, they would be bad talents. If you had so many good talents that you had a hard time deciding, I'm pretty certain the response would be that the trees are bloated.

Shadowflame fulfills a very specific role. If you hadn't noticed, we are pushing Destro more towards fire and Affliction more towards shadow. Shadowflame is one of the few spells that crosses over because it does both types of damage (which should have obvious ramifications for a lock).

We think Demonic Circle is going to end up being a big deal. It's not a trivial spell to use -- it's a thinking person's spell. It takes planning and some intuition. I suspect it is being underestimated because so few people have actually gotten to use it yet.

We think the complex rotation is very hard to pull off in PvE too and seems to almost mandate a mod, which is a problem. We have some long-term plans to change Affliction around a little bit.

There are no PvP trees anymore. My comment was that Demo may not have the sustained dps of the other two trees in PvE, but at least it would still be taken for PvP. We need to see if the survivability offered by the tree offsets its lower dps or not. (And before anyone responds that you would raid with 10 health if it would improve your dps, I'll remind you that your dps when dead is 0.)

Destro's rotation was among the least interesting in the entire game. It needed major help.

I probably would have responded to more if you could have made more points without trying so hard to work an insult into half of your comments. Maybe a more thoughtful PvP warlock thread will rise up.

Q2:目前伤害有些太高了。竞技场里总倾向于大量的伤害,并且胜负往往基于运气。
确实有些这样。我们希望最新的韧性变化能有些帮助。同时我们希望80级的血量可以缓和伤害的提升。不过目前这确实是很麻烦的问题。
Q3:我们过于依赖在恶魔系投入11点,17点甚至更多的天赋点数了。
我们倒是不怎么担心这个。好天赋就是好天赋,如果你不想点那他就不是好天赋了。我希望你们做出选择。如果一个天赋树里有太多好天赋那你们一定会说这个天赋太臃肿了。
Q4:暗影烈焰太糟糕了。貌似你们没什么更好的注意了?我们在AE上已经够强了,如果你们只想给我们各绿色版的龙息那么就叫他“绿龙吐息”然后和龙息术效果一样不就好了。
暗影烈焰有一些特点。仔细观察你会发现我们希望毁灭更倾向于火系伤害,而痛苦则倾向于暗影伤害。暗影烈焰就是一个横跨两系的法术。他可以同时造成暗影和火焰两种伤害。
Q5:传送法术目前很可怜,他不能再昏迷状态使用。作为一个防御法术他只有一半的作用,或许你们能做出些改变?
恶魔之环并不是作为移动法术来用的。他更适合于善于善于思考的人。使用它需要一些计划甚至是直觉。
Q6:痛苦现在是彻底的pve循环,在pvp中根本无法完成。你们应该在上面多下点功夫。
我们认为保持完整的循环在pve中也是很困难的,甚至你们需要一个完整的插件去保持它。这确实是个问题我们有一个长期的计划使痛苦系的到一些改变。
Q7:既然你们认为恶魔系天赋是我们的pvp天赋树,那么为什么你们在改变了恶魔系很多天赋的同时在其中加入了pve天赋呢?
并没有什么pvp天赋树。我们只是说恶魔系可能不像其他两系那样在pve中造成不错的伤害,另外至少这些天赋可以在pvp中使用。当然我们会考虑到恶魔系提供的生存能力是否能抵消他带来的较低的输出。(记住死人是没有输出的)
Q8:混乱箭应该可以给我们快速可靠的爆发伤害,而不是像现在这样仅仅是加入输出循环就能略微提高我们的输出。
毁灭的输出循环几乎是整个游戏中最无趣的,确实这需要一些改变。如果你可以认真一些提出你的观点然后我们可以好好讨论一下。希望一些不错的术士pvp帖子可以被发出来。

Second, I'd hate to see priests with Shadow Bolt. Third, mages with felhunters don't seem like a good idea to me right now either.

Fourth and finale, we're watching all of the classes right now very carefully. If we find that any particular class is underperforming, we'll bring that class up to speed.

七、神圣法师

i have been a fan of holy mages(smite priests) for a while now.
i just reinstalled wow and rolled a priest for wotlk.
i am wondering if you have any plans to buff holy dps a bit.
there have been a few ideas on the priest forums about how to do this, such as letting more talents in holy buff damage(holy) spells as well.
i really dont want to play shadow or only heal, if we could get a bit more utility/dps that would be awesome.
any buffs for holy dps in the future or was it never intended to be viable?

I think to this, we would have to take the approach we did with the Feral tree in LK, which is that you can choose to be good at everything or you can choose to be great at one thing.

In other words, we'd need to add more +Smite and Holy Fire talents and priests would then have to choose to take those at the expense of healing. We can't just buff Holy dps "for free" without having a risk that other classes might not be able to compete.

We did however make dps a little more viable for all healing classes with the spell power change.

Here is just a big brain dump on Arcane mages. Warning: I am not specifically talking about any changes we might make. We might make none at all. But here are our thoughts at the moment.

1) It's fun to be able to run around and do instant Barrages.
2) Barrage does a ton of damage quickly, possibly too much, and it can't be interrupted.
3) Locking Arcane out of its school is very painful for them (no Blink etc.). Does this balance them at all?
4) Arcane Blast feels a little awkward to use and doesn't do enough dps.
5) One way to change Arcane would be to require you to build up 2 Blasts in order to get the big Barrage numbers, kind of like a Shatter Combo if you will.
6) This would make their PvE rotation more interesting too.
7) Is there enough skill involved in doing Arcane PvP, or is it all just killing time until Barrage's cooldown is up?
